Research and Evaluative Evidence

Created Jun 28 2021, 8:56 AM by Johannes Peter Zimmermann

The body of research and evaluative evidence on what crime and violence looks like and where it occurs, on factors that seem to either increase risk or enhance protection, on approaches that have been tried and whether they work, is wide-ranging.  We have selected some key resources here, focusing on three perspectives:

  1. the most recent and comprehensive 'overviews' (such as the Laura Chioda 2017 book which covers the full scope)
  2. more focused reviews that drill down into either a geographic area, or a subset of risk factors
  3. intervention-specific evidence about models and approaches shown on the right-hand side of our graphic.
