Calendar » EAST ASIA AND PACIFIC 2nd CLEAN STOVE INITIATIVE FORUM
Background: The East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Clean Stove Initiative (CSI) Forum is part of EAP CSI program, a regional program that aims to achieve universal access to modern cooking and heating solutions in the EAP region, particularly focusing on poor and rural households, who are likely to continue using solid fuels to meet their cooking and heating needs beyond 2030. EAP CSI is a multi-country, multi-phase program, with funding support from the Australian Government and Asia Sustainable and Alternative Energy Program (ASTAE). The initiative includes four country-specific programs (China, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Lao PDR) and a regional CSI Forum to promote collaboration, learning, and knowledge-sharing on access to modern energy at the household level. The first CSI forum was held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on March 18, 2013, concurrently with the International Clean Cooking Forum (March 18-22, 2013).
Objectives: The objectives of the second EAP CSI Regional Forum on April 28, 2014 are (1) to share and discuss the progresses, challenges and findings of implementing the second phase of CSI, and (2) to promote south-south collaboration, learning and knowledge-sharing.
Participants: Delegations from the four country programs, delegations from other peer countries, sector experts, donors, and regional and international partners.
