Global Insights Conference Community-Driven Development (CDD) and Conflict Prevention

The CDD Global Solutions Group organized the first gobal conference on using CDD approaches for conflict prevention from 13-14 June, 2019 in Washington DC. Organized jointly with the FCV theme group, the conference brought together some 60 participants, representing 12 government delegations and task teams from all six of the Bank’s regions. Supported by a grant from the State and Peacebuilding Fund (SPF), the conference emphasized interactive engagement across delegations to share knowledge and build networks for future collaboration. While much of this was a closed-door event to facilitate frank conversations on what are often difficult topics, the event opened with a set of keynote speeches and a high-level panel on the morning of 13 June which was open to the public.
