The recently updated evidence available on The Road Safety Observatory shows the significant effect of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. New research shows that when comparing similar vehicles between 2010 and 2014, those equipped with Forward Collision Warning (FCW) had a reduced involvement in rear end collisions by 27%. (Cicchino, 2017).
