My internship at the Noor Ouarzazate 4 solar plant in Morocco
As a final-year energy engineering student at the National School of Mines of Rabat, I had the honor of representing Moroccan young engineers in the RENEW MENA program by Masen and The World Bank in Morocco. This prestigious opportunity fostered my growth and practical application of academic knowledge in the energy sector, with a focus on advancing women's roles
During my internship at the Noor Ouarzazate 4 solar plant, I addressed photovoltaic panel degradation—a key challenge affecting solar system efficiency. My project included a thorough analysis of degradation factors and the development of a thermal management solution via simulation, enhancing my technical and analytical skills.
Interacting with industry experts and academic mentors, I improved my professional communication and collaborative skills, gaining a deeper understanding of the energy challenges in arid regions and the importance of sustainable, gender-inclusive practices.
.
A highlight was attending the RENEW MENA Conference in Jordan, themed "Women in the Energy Sector." I spoke on a panel, sharing insights on transitioning from academia to industry, which was instrumental in networking and learning from seasoned experts, further shaping my career in sustainable energy practices.
The conference's vibrant atmosphere fostered an environment of learning and networking, where I connected with seasoned experts and gained valuable perspectives on advancing my career in energy. The discussions, workshops, and keynote speeches were not only enlightening but also underscored the critical role of sustainable and inclusive practices in the energy sector.
.
As I reflect on my time with the RENEW MENA program, I am immensely grateful for the opportunities to grow professionally and personally. The experiences I've gathered during this internship are treasures that will guide my future endeavors in the energy sector.
As a fresh graduate entering the energy sector, I am eager to apply my expertise in energy engineering to develop sustainable energy solutions. My future career plans include working on innovative projects that leverage renewable energy technologies to combat climate change and support energy transition globally. My goal is to contribute to the development of resilient and sustainable energy systems that not only meet current demands but also pave the way for future generations.
