Qualitative research offers a unique perspective in healthcare through social experiences and cultural meanings that help to explain, rather than describe, data. The information gathered through interviews, discussions, and surveys from people with intimate knowledge of the socio-cultural and political contexts has shown ways to increase the quality of care and service coverage in ongoing projects.
A recent results-based financing seminar, ‘Qualitative Research in RBF: The Promise and the Reality’, presented by leading experts Dr. Karina Kielmann and Dr. Fabian Cataldo, provided an overview on qualitative research carried out in 20 Health Results Innovation Trust Fund-financed projects between 2011 and 2015.
