This report combines time allocation data from the Pakistan Rural Household Panel Surveys (2012-2014) with village-level flood depth data from satellite imagery to understand labor impacts from flooding. It suggests a shift in the gender division of paid and unpaid labor in flood-affected villages. Both men and women spent more time as hired labor, but men also increased their time on reproductive work and fuel collection, while women spent less time on child and elderly care. This shift in reproductive work was positively associated with increased decision-making power for women.
