World Bank Group’s Expert Advisory Council on Citizen Engagement

Purpose of this Group

This platform aims to bring together the members of the World Bank Group’s Expert Advisory Council on Citizen Engagement (EAC) to facilitate coordination, collaboration, and knowledge exchange on the World Bank Group’s citizen engagement mainstreaming activities.  The membership of this group is by invitation only to allow free exchange and coordination between and among the EAC and World Bank Group (WBG).

About the EAC

Established in 2014, the EAC brings external expertise and insights on citizen engagement (CE) to the development and implementation of the 2014 Strategic Framework to Mainstream Citizen Engagement in World Bank Group Operations (Strategic Framework).  The Terms of Reference of the EAC provided for 12 members from civil society (2), academia (2), private sector (2), governments (2), foundations (2) and donor organizations/development partners including the WBG (2).  In 2018 the decision was made to exclude the WBG from the count, as the host institution, enabling for 2 non-WBG representatives from donor organizations/development partners.
