Benedict Muyale, is an Environment Change campaigner in Climate Change, Pro-poor Policy and Green concepts for developing cities with over seven years experience. He is a graduate of Environmental Planning and Management from Kenyatta University, Nairobi Kenya. In his passion, Benedict has founded Vesta Networks, which currently supports the Green Sun Cities, an environmental advocacy project he established to employ youths with key aim to make cities in developing countries, especially Eastern Africa, better and greener. As an environmental graduate, he has worked with environmental youth groups in Kenya on tree planting and voicing environmental concerns. This opened opportunity for him to be employed with environmental audit firm in Kenya, as an environmental analyst. Thereafter, Benedict has audited sugar factories among the first cogeneration factories in Kenya while working with a continental NGO in research, energy development and policies. Benedict has contributed to pro-poor energy solutions in research papers and presentations. Key to note, Benedict drafted African Development Bank Energy Sector policy paper that led to development of new energy strategy later in 2011. Benedict is of service to the community and currently, he mentors young men and women on green business solutions in urban slums through KumeKucha Initiative. He has also been committee member for Nairobi Arboretum and which he contributed to revision of the arboretum guide in 2012. As a manager of Green Sun Cities, he has funded and carried a study on Green Transport Solutions for Developing Cities: A case study of Nairobi. This paper has been presented in a number of key climate change conferences, of which he recently presented it in Arusha, Tanzania during Urbanization and Climate Change International Conference.
