More data on the Sri Lankan Drought. Annual Rainfall is 2540 mm to over 5080 mm in south west of the Island. Less than 1250 mm in the north west and south east of the Inland. This is a lot of rainfall and Sri Lanka should be looking at harvesting this precious water source and exporting it to neighboring South India where there is a serious shortage of water. However neither the corporate sector nor the government is looking at the strategic and humanitarian value of this resource and so most of the islands precipitate runs into the ocean.
This waste of fresh water is a continuing tragedy.
