If your travel costs are being covered by the World Bank, you should have received your air ticket from the World Bank-appointed travel agent. Please refer any questions to the World Bank administrative contact whom you have been in communication with.
World Bank staff and other participants that are not covered by the World Bank should make their own flight arrangement.
Visa/Entry Requirements for China
Please ensure that you have a valid passport, and visa if needed, to enter China. Please check with your visa office for information on China’s visa requirements.
For participants whose travel cost is covered by the World Bank, we have made room reservations on your behalf. Please ensure that you have a confirmed room reservation at the Mercure Beijing Downtown Hotel, at the World Bank group rate of RMB580 for the nights that you will be in Beijing for the workshop. This rate includes daily breakfast and free wifi access.
If your travel costs are being covered by the World Bank, you should settle your bill directly with the hotel upon checkout, and submit the hotel bill/receipt with your travel expense claim for reimbursement by the World Bank. Please note that charges on your hotel bill other than the basic room charge – e.g. items such as phone calls, room service, mini bar, laundry etc. – are your own responsibility.

Transport from Airport to Hotel
Beijing Capital Airport is located about 30km northeast of the hotel.
Regular metered taxis are available in the arrival hall, and will cost approximately RMB120-150/USD20-25 (non-peak hours) to the hotel. Travel time is approximately 50-60 minutes.
The taxi fare may be paid in RMB cash. If your travel costs are covered by the World Bank, the cost of the taxi ride will be reimbursed – please keep the receipt for submission with your expense claim.
The expo will be held in Langfang, Hebei Province. For the convenience of participants, a bus to the expo will depart from the hotel at 7AM on April 26 and 8AM on April 27.
The forum on April 28 will be in the Room Innovation, B1 floor of the Main Building of the Mercure Beijing Downtown Hotel.
The three activities on April 29 will take place at different locations: Hebei province, Agricultural University, and Ministry of Agriculture. Three buses will be arranged and depart from the hotel at different time.
Group 1 (stove manufacturer): Assemble at the lobby and leave for stove manufacturers in Gaobeidian at 7:30AM;
Group 2 (Stove lab): Assemble at the lobby and leave for China Agricultural University (CAU) at 9:00AM;
Group 3 (Bilateral meeting): Assemble at the lobby and leave for Ministry of Agriculture at 8:30AM.

Daily breakfast is included in the basic room charge at most hotels. Lunch and dinner will be provided during the Forum day on April 28. The restaurant for lunch on April 28 is La Vie Restaurant located in B1 floor of the Main Building and dinner will be at Huateng Chinese Restaurant on F1 floor of the Conference Center.
Lunches during expo on April 26 and 27 and post-forum event on April 29 will be provided. However, dinners of the three days have to be arranged on your own.

Reimbursement of Travel Expenses
If your travel costs are being covered by the World Bank, please submit a claim for reimbursement of expenses mentioned above, including receipts, after you have returned from China. Please refer any questions to the World Bank administrative contact whom you have been in communication with.

The weather in Beijing in April is warm, with a daytime high of around 20 degrees Celsius and a nighttime low of 10 degrees Celsius. April is not a particularly rainy month. Long tops and trousers are enough and a light jacket may be needed just in case. Please also note that air-conditioned locations indoors can sometimes feel quite cold.
