I am Khalifeh Suleiman Ad-Dayyat, Mayor of Deir Alla. I received a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Yarmouk University in Jordan in 1998 and a Master’s in Diplomatic Studies from Jordan University in 2006. I worked as a teacher of English language in the Ministry of Education in Jordan from 1999 to 2007, after which I was elected mayor of Deir Alla Municipality from 2007 to 2011 and was re-elected for a second term in 2013.
I have chaired many NGOs in Jordan, and I am a member and co-founder of a number of charities. I was appointed as a board member of both the Cities and Villages Development Bank (CVDB) in Jordan and the Jordanian Volleyball Union. In 2013, I suggested that there must be a Union of Jordan Valley Municipalities for more coordination and to have a strong voice on the decision-makers of the central government in terms of the public needs for those communities. I was then selected to become the chairman of that Union.
I have received awards from a number of national institutions and organizations in Jordan. I am currently starting a local charitable initiative, The Jordanian Charity For Development and Community Empowerment and a national collaborative initiative, The Jordanian Renewable Energy Collaborative Organization.
