Ever dream of making your own metro? A simple yet addictive new online game, “Mini Metro,” lets players develop a metro system to accommodate the transport needs of an imaginary metropolis.  Highly relevant for those in the urban planning or transportation fields (at least, likely more so than “Candy Crush Saga”), the game is both fun and instructive.  Currently in its trial alpha version, the game already illustrates important factors that can determine a metro system’s success or failure – the number of lines necessary in a given corridor, station overcrowding, “hub and spoke” vs. “trunk and feeder” route considerations, etc.
