In this webinar, Dr. Nama Raj Budhathoki, Technical Lead for OpenDRI, shared experiences from Nepal in conducting community-mapping exercises with OSM to inform decision making for disaster risk management (DRM) in South Asia. OpenDRI is a global initiative that was launched in 2011 by the Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR) Labs, and is a critical component of the strategy toward helping countries better understand and manage disaster and climate risk. OpenDRI incorporates the use of open-source technology such as GeoNode and Open Street Map (OSM) to facilitate the collection, sharing and management of spatial data for decision-making.
