World Bank Transport colleagues,
The Energy Efficient Cities program at ESMAP, together with the Transport and ICT Global Practice, have issued the Third Call for Proposals for the ESMAP-Transport Sector Board Grants for Energy Efficient Urban Transport.
The grants will finance activities in the following areas:
- Initiatives that seek to reduce the demand for motorized travel, such as greater use of public or non-motorized transport and integrated urban/transport planning
- Initiatives that seek to improve energy efficiency in meeting urban transport demand, both for passenger and freight traffic in cities
- Initiatives towards capacity building in energy efficient urban transport
- Business development initiatives for energy efficiency of urban transport systems in World Bank lending
