SOCIAL CAPITAL AND SOCIAL COHESION MEASUREMENT TOOLKIT FOR COMMUNITY-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS

One challenge faced in many operations and more broadly in fragile and conflict-affected situations (FCS) is the difficulty in measuring social cohesion. In view of this, the CDD GSG commissioned Ryan Sheely and Jeeyon Kim of Mercy Corps to develop a social cohesion measurement toolkit, to be used for project evaluations. The toolkit contains both quantitative survey modules as well as qualitative focus group questions. This webinar will focus on the toolkit and how some of these modules may be relevant to measuring social cohesion and social capital especially in FCS settings. Some lessons can also be drawn for use of this instrument during the current COVID-19 crisis.
