We are pleased to invite you to participate in a webinar presenting the findings of a forthcoming study conducted by the World Bank Group in partnership with Accenture Development Partnerships. This event will provide an overview of the results of an analysis conducted to better understand small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) and non-governmental entities interested in providing energy services to rural off-grid customers in developing countries. This report intends to inform the broader discussion on commercially viable provision of off-grid energy services.
This analysis is based on data extracted from 380 proposals submitted to 6 business plan competitions over the past 18 months. The objective of this research was to seek to understand the nature of the proposers. Who are the potential, future energy service providers in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia? Their maturity stage? What are their financial and legal structures? How do they intend to serve their markets at the local level? What kind of business models and technologies are preferred? These are some of the questions that will be addressed in this webinar.
We look forward to your active contribution in this event.
