The FY19 Advisory Services Creating Markets Special Competition and Learn from Their Stories: Maximizing Finance for Development the Hard Way in the Jamaica Coffee Project
SmartLessons is an IFC lessons and awards program sponsored by the Global Knowledge and Learning Office. The Program encourages and enables staff to share lessons learned in development operations. SmartLessons share first-hand, practical lessons that reduce risk, improve efficiency, promote validated processes, and improve performance. During the FY2019 competition, a case on the Jamaica Coffee Project was selected as one of the winners. The case provides valuable lessons-learned based on a candid review of the Project, especially numerous difficulties the team faced. The project team made a presentation during a celebration event on September 10 at the IFC HQ.
