2013-20 - Georgia, Rustavi-Red Bridge Highway
Road project. This project is located on one of the major trunk roads running from Tbilisi through Rustavi before reaching the border with Azerbaijan near Red Bridge (Kvemo Kartli).

Demand estimation from IDEA II-EaP transport model year 2030
  • Freight: 23.000 tonnes/day
  • Passengers: 3.600 cars/day
Technical description
Project length: 35 km. The upgrading of the Tbilisi-Rustavi section (17.4 km) was funded by the Asia Development Bank (ADB) in 2012. Construction began in April 2015 and continued for 17 month
Investment amount
The estimated projects cost is 110 mln USD.
Implementation schedule
The implementation is planned for 2018-2020.
Status
Feasibility study and detail design started in 2016.
Expected impacts on transport, environment, social, other
This project is of regional significance would improve connections with Azerbaijan and possibly of interest for NIF.
