M6 Vanadzor - Alaverdi - Georgian border - road rehabilitation and improvement

Road project. Rehabilitation and improvement of the interstate road. Eastern Partnership Priority Projects; TRACECA IDEA II; EIB investment.

M4 Yerevan - Sevan - Ijevan - Azerbaijan Border

Road project. The proposed highway starts from Yerevan, passes through Dilijan and Ijevan and is adjacent to the highway leading to Bagratashen checkpoint, which corresponds to the M-4 Yerevan - Sevan-Ijevan-Azerbaijan border road. Estimated cost of rehabilitation of the highway is 105.0 million EUR. Last rehabilitated in 2001-2002.

M3 Turkish border – Margara-Vanadzor – Georgian Border

Road project. The highway starts at the "North-South" highway - from bypass area of Ashtarak, passes through Aparan, Spitak, Stepanavan, Tashir and ends before reaching the checkpoint of Gogavan. The total length of sections proposed for rehabilitation is 131.2 km. Estimated cost of reconstruction of the highway is 105.0 million EUR.

Northern Corridor modernization project. Upgrade of Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan border crossing points

Road project. The project focuses on three Border Control Points (BCPs) along the Armenian border with Georgia: Bagratashen, Bavra and Gogavan.

Lifeline Road Network Improvement Project

Road project. The project aims to rehabilitate about 360 km of lifeline roads. The roads included in the project are roads in poor to very poor condition in need of rehabilitation. Much of the deterioration is related to environmental factors, exacerbated by poor drainage design and maintenance practice.

International Logistics Centre (ILC) at Zvarnots international airport

Intermodal project The Zvartnots International Airport site of 36 ha is located about 12 km to the south-west of Yerevan city center, adjacent to the Airport (about 300 m). The nearest city road is 1.5 km away and the direct distance to the main railway line is approximately 1.3 km, providing opportunities for easy connections to the site.

North-South Road Corridor Investment Project, section in the northern part of the corridor Yerevan to Bavra

Road project aimed at reconstruction of the 2nd-3d category carriageway with a speed limit of 30-90 km/hour that runs 560 km from the Armenian border with Georgia at Bavra to the border with Iran at Agarak and upgrading it to 470 km-long 1st category high-speed carriageway. Estimated cost of construction works of the North-South Road Corridor Investment Program is about USD 2-3 billion. More information

North-South Road Corridor Investment Project, section in the southern part of the corridor

Road project. North-South Road Corridor crosses the territory of Armenia from the South to the North including Agarak-Kapan-Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highways and road infrastructures and is linked to the Georgian road network leading to Poti and Batumi ports. The whole Corridor runs 556 km from the border with Georgia at Bavra via Gyumri, Talin, Ashtarak, Yerevan, Goris, and Kapan, to the border with Iran at Meghri. More information

M8 Vanadzor - Dilijan road improvement

Road project. Highway is part of a transit destination West from East, connecting the above 1st and 2nd highways as well as Dilijan and Vanadzor. The cover is in very poor condition, there are many holes, residues, insufficient visibility curves, stone fragments, a large number of security elements are missing. Last time it was renovated in 2003. The initial cost of rehabilitation of the highway is 25.2 million Euro.

Road project. M-6 Vanadzor – Alaverdi – Georgian Border Interstate Road concerns the rehabilitation and improvement of M6 road in north eastern Armenia between Vanadzor and the entrance to custom area of Bagratashen in total of 90 km length. The project is financed by the European Investment Bank and the Asian Development Bank jointly. More information

Construction of the International Transport Logistics Centre (ILC) in the New Baku

Intermodal project. New construction. The ILC on a 50ha land plot at the New Baku International Sea Trade Port at Alyat
is a greenfield site and located about 70 km to the south of Baku, on the Caspian Sea, where TRACECA and North-South corridor cross each other.

Improving existing trans-Caspian shipping links Baku Aktau

Maritime project. The existing maritime link connects two important transport nodes on Caspian Sea ports of Baku and Aktau, but also serves as a segment for TRACECA corridor connecting Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia and CAREC 2b corridor providing the access for the landlocked Central Asian countries to Caspian Sea and Caucasians countries.

Rail project. Project focuses on the existing connection between the Poti sea port (Black Sea) and Baku sea port (Caspian Sea hub at Alyat) via TRACECA Central Axis. Geographical extension towards Central Asia-Silk Wind Block Train Project.

Road reconstruction and upgrading

Road project. Road upgrading. M2/E60 highway is part of the TRACECA corridor and a key international trade route for Azerbaijan.  This highway is part of the Government’s priority program to upgrade the national road network to support the economic growth of the regions outside Baku and increase international trade, connectivity and integration into the global economy.

Highway III Road Project

Road project. Project finances the upgrading of the M4 Baku-Shamakhi road to a four-lane motorway as well as the upgrading of the Yenikend-Shorsulu section of the M3 highway.

Road Project. The main project development objective is to reduce road transport costs and improve access, transit and road safety within Azerbaijan's East-West and North-South corridors, through upgrading some sections of the Alat-Masalli road of the Baku-Iran highway (M3) and rehabilitating the Baku-Shamakhi road (M4).

Construction of a bridge across the river Zapadny Bug (Western Bug) at the road checkpoint Domachevo (Slovatichi)

Road Project - The project is concerned with the reconstruction or upgrading of a road bridge located at the border crossing point Domachevo - Slovatichi between Belarus and Poland.

Improvements of express passenger service between Vilnius and Minsk

Rail project. Electrification of rail track on a section of 77 km from Lithuanian border to Maladzechno in Belarus.

Inland Waterways, Feasibility study on the development of the water transport connection Dniepr-Visla-Oder (E40)

Inland Waterways Project - The proposed intervention covers the Belarusian section of the E40 waterway.

Upgrade of road between Minsk and Vilnus

Road project. The project is located on E28 (Vilnius - Minsk) of the Trans-European Road Network.

Road project. Modernization of the road M-10 (Russian border — Gomel — Kobrin) with a length of 85 km from Rechitsa to Kalinkovichi. Preliminary cost of the project is estimated at 212 million euros.

Road project. The main objective of the project is facilitation of border crossing along the Trans-European Transport connection between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Lithuania.

Secondary Road Improvement Project
Road project. The project road is a 50.404-km west to east secondary road, starting from E60 in Dzirula and ending at E60 junction at Chumateleti. Most of the project road is within Imereti Region with a few kilometers within Shida Kartli Region, through a gorge with mountain ranges with on both the northern and southern part.

Anaklia New Deep Water Black Sea Port

Maritime project. New construction. Port will be constructed in Anaklia, Samegreo-Zemo Saneti Region, Western Georgia. The location, a few miles south of the existing town was selected because it there is a deep water approach channel that comes close to the shore in this location.

Road project. The East-West Highway is the main corridor for transit through Georgia and is located on Transport Corridor Europe, Caucasus, Asia (TRACECA).

Rehabilitation of Grigoleti-Choloqi  Grigoleti-Poti road

Road project. Project of regional significance, included in the national transport master plan/strategy. Length: 35 km. Number of lanes: 2-4 lanes. The total estimated cost of the project is 180 mln USD.

Road project. Project of regional significance, included in the national transport master plan/strategy.

Length: 30 km. Number of lanes: 2-4 lanes. The total estimated cost of the project is 70 mln USD.

Tbilisi Bypass

Road project. Project of regional significance. The new road will relieve the city from transit traffic and is important for transit transporters as well as residents of Tbilisi.

Feasibility study on the creation of Logistics Centres

Intermodal project. Government of Georgia, intends to carry out a feasibility study for the creation of logistics centers.
Feasibility study will include market and gap analysis of logistics centers services, demand analysis and forecasts, identification of potential sites and their comparative analysis, preparation of detailed technical, economic and financial evaluations and environment and social impact assessment.

Tbilisi-Rustavi Urban Road (Tranche 2 and 3)

Road project. Tbilisi-Rustavi Road entails a four-lane urban link between Tbilisi (population: 1.2 million) and the city of Rustavi (population: 117,000.00). This road is also part of the East-West Highway connecting Azerbaijan with the Black Sea.

Road project. The East-West Highway is the main corridor for transit through Georgia and is located on Transport Corridor Europe, Caucasus, Asia (TRACECA).

Iliychevsk - Samsun - Poti maritime-based Service

Maritime project. Soft measure. The maritime link Samsun-Iliychevsk-Poti (Motorways of the Sea Link) shall connect 3 sea ports of Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia. TRACECA and other international routes pass through these sea ports.

Rustavi-Red Bridge Highway

Road project. This project is located on one of the major trunk roads running from Tbilisi through Rustavi before reaching the border with Azerbaijan near Red Bridge (Kvemo Kartli).

Modernization of Tbilisi - Marneuli road section

Road project. This project of regional significance would improve connections with Armenia. The estimated project cost is 80 mln EUR and the implementation is planned for 2018-2020. A pre-feasibility study has been carried out for this 27 km road project.

International Logistics Centre (ILC) at TAM/Veli site in Tbilisi

Intermodal project. The main objective of the planned Logistics Centre is to provide integrated logistics services, develop a logistics hub to cover the industrial centre and catchment area of Tbilisi, and create a railway container hub for the South-Caucasus region.

Modernization of Georgian Railway (Tbilisi-Batumi): Zestaphoni-Khashuri section

Rail project. New construction. The project has strong commitment at national level. Zestapfoni-Khashuri section is 40 km long. Number of bridges: 9. Number of tunnels: 6.

Road project. The East-West Highway is the main corridor for transit through Georgia and is located on Transport Corridor Europe, Caucasus, Asia (TRACECA).

Kobuleti Bypass Road (Road Corridor Investment Program Projects 1 and 3, Loan 2560-GEO)

Road project. The Kobuleti Bypass section is part of the so-called Adjara Bypass Project along the E-70 Poti -Batumi - Sarpi  road located  the  western Black  Sea  coast of  Georgia.  The project  road  also forms part  of  the main  road  corridor East-West  Highway  between Azerbaijan  and  Georgia. Its connection  with  the Black  Sea  ports of  Batumi  and Poti  and  the tourist  beaches  in Kobuleti makes this road an important trade and tourism road for Georgia.

Rail project. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway is a new corridor that will connect Azerbaijan, Georgian and Turkish railways and will open a window onto Europe.

East West Highway Corridor Improvement Project Additional Financing

Road project. Project development objectives are to: reduce road user costs along the East-West Highway Corridor section

upgraded under the project; and (ii) strengthen the capacity of the Roads Department and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development to respectively manage the road network and provide an enabling environment to improve logistics services. Approved by The World Bank in 2017.

Secondary Road Improvement Project

Road project. The proposed secondary road improvement project will rehabilitate a road which extends for about 50 kilometers from Dzirula to Chumateleti via Kharagauli in Central Georgia to two-lane all-weather standard, including several short access roads to the nearby national park and to Kharagauli and other railway stations. Approved by ADB in 2017.

Road project. The development objectives are to contribute to the gradual reduction of road transport costs and to improve access, ease of transit, and road safety along the central part of Georgia's East-West corridor; (ii) to strengthen the capacity of the roads department and relevant government entities to plan and manage the road network and to improve road safety.

Road project. New construction. The project is located on M3 national, an important connection with Romania and Ukraine. The Moldovan M3 road provides the most important and shortest link between Chisinau and Giurgiulesti and provides access to the Danube and Black Sea.

Road project. New construction. The project is located on the national road R1, Chisinau - Ungheni - Sculeni - Romania border

Construction of European gauge railway track and electrification of Chisinau-Ungheni section

Rail project. Upgrade, new construction. Railway line Chisinau-Ungheni is part of the IX Pan-European corridor (according to the decisions of the Pan-European Conference of Transport Ministers in Crete, 1994, and in Helsinki, 1997), and is included in the TRACECA zone.

Road project. Upgrade. This Project is part of a more comprehensive rehabilitation programme including also Projects "Moldova Roads II" and "Moldova European Roads". The project consists in rehabilitating and upgrading several sections, as well as constructing city bypasses or missing links on main road corridors.

Road project. Road upgrade. New construction. The project focuses on the rehabilitation of key road links in Moldova: M3, R9 and R34.

Road project, R33 Hincesti - Lapusna - M1

Road project. The R33 is located in Hîncesti District in the central west of Moldova. Rehabilitation mainly consist of pavement rehabilitation of 37.2 km of road including milling and applying a structural overlay.

Roads rehabilitation III

Road project. Upgrade. The EBRD provided a sovereign loan to the Government of Moldova to co-finance the rehabilitation of main road sections in Moldova. The purpose of the project is to help reverse the deterioration of the road network in Moldova and to ensure key road links are properly maintained to facilitate economic growth and regional integration.

Moldova, International Logistics Centre (ILC) at the free Marculesti International Airport

Intermodal project. The project will build a new facility on the site to create an Intermodal Logistics Centre in Moldova.

The project aims to increase the interaction with the city of Chisinau and the Free International port "Giurgiulesti".

Rail project. Improvement of the railway infrastructure and modernization of the rolling stock in order to enable CFM to enhance efficiency and safety of railway services and to improve the overall performance of its railway operations. EBRD project.

Rehabilitation of national road M14 - Section Balti - Chisinau

Road project. Upgrade. The project is located along the M14 Brest-Briceni-Chişinău-Tiraspol-Odesa corridor. M14 road is  part of TRACECA road network, EATL and TEN-T. The M14 route is designated European E 583 and allows access of the northern part of Moldova to Pan-European Corridor IX. Rehabilitation of the M14 road is the priority project for Eastern Partnership. The road ensures the traffic flow from Moldova to the Ukrainian port Odessa, and Black Sea coast rest areas.

Rehabilitation of national road M14 - Section Balti - Criva

Road project. Upgrade. The project is located along the M14 Brest-Briceni-Tiraspol-Odesa corridor and ensures connection between Balti, the second largest city in Republic of Moldova, and the Ukrainian border. M14 road is a part of TRACECA road network, EATL and TEN-T. The M14 route is designated European E 583 and allows access of the northern part of Moldova to Pan-European Corridor IX.

Rehabilitation of national road M21 Chisinau - Dubasari - Goianul Nou - Platonove (Ukrainian border)

Road project. Upgrade. The road M21 Chisinau-Dubasari-Ukrainian border belong to the International Transport Corridor IX Helsinki-S.Peterburg-Pskov-Moscova-Kiev-Ljubase-Chişinău-Bucureşti-Dimitrovgrad-Alexandropoulis and is a connection to TEN-T network. Road M21 is the shortest link between Chisinau and Dubasari, providing access to Kirovograd and Poltava in Ukraine.

Rehabilitation of national road R13

Road project. Upgrade. The road R13 Balti - Floresti - M2 provides the link between Balti and Floresti and also provides connections between the M14 and M2 national roads. M2 road goes towards Soroca and Ukraine/Russia/Belarus.

Road project. Upgrade. This Project is part of a more comprehensive rehabilitation program including also Projects "Moldova Roads II" and "Moldova Roads III". The Project scope includes the recovery of ca. 500 km (200 km in the first phase and 300 km in the second phase) of trunk road network sections on the two main axes (North-South and East-West).

Road project. Upgrade. This Project is part of a more comprehensive rehabilitation program including also Projects "Moldova Roads III" and "Moldova European Roads". It covers the rehabilitation of 500 km of the trunk road network in Moldova on the two main North-South and East-West axes.

Road Sector Program Support Project
Road project. The objective of the Road Sector Program Support Project is to reduce road transport costs for road users in Moldova by improving the condition and quality of its road network and the way it is managed. World Bank project.

Reconstruction of Krakovets-Lviv-Brody-Rivne road

Road project. The project envisages the construction under PPP concession of a new tolled road parallel to the existing one and designed to bypass the existing settlements (Nakonechne, Nakonechne, Yavoriv, Ivano-Frankove and Lviv (the northern by-pass).
