Responsible Investment Workshop:

How investors and corporates can manage climate risk

Date: 14 March 2018

Time: 09.30-12.30

Venue: BEC Headquarters, 77 Tat Chee Avenue, Hong Kong

Event Organisers: BEC Institute of Environmental Education

Event Overview

With climate change increasingly disrupting business operations, supply chains, and overall business continuity, corresponding risks to the financial system must be taken into account. Investors and corporates need to be more attentive to climate risk.

This workshop is designed for asset owners, asset managers, analysts and other professionals and practitioners who are interested in responsible investment. This workshop moves beyond awareness-raising, bringing the discussion beyond “what” and “why” to “how”. It aims to build capacity among investors and corporates to integrate climate risk into investment-related decisions, and to use tools and frameworks to assess and manage climate risks.

Investors will be taken through the tools and processes for assessing investments in light of climate risk. Corporates will be introduced to tools for managing climate risk which their assets and operations are subject to, and for guiding disclosure aligned with changing expectations. This workshop features presentations and dialogue with experts, and will include a group exercise and discussion.
