Bloomberg Associates Helping Cities Go Digital in the Face of the Coronavirus

Bloomberg Philanthropies is accelerating the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic with initiatives including the Coronavirus Local Response Initiative and the Coronavirus Global Response Initiative. In addition, its philanthropic consulting arm, Bloomberg Associates, provides bespoke consulting support to a number of global and domestic cities.

Todd Asher and Tess O’Brien will introduce Bloomberg Associates and share how Bloomberg Philanthropies is supporting city governments around the world to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Todd Asher: As Deputy Principal for the Digital Strategies practice at Bloomberg Associates, Todd Asher develops municipal strategies related to public communications and economic development in the media and technology sectors. He draws on experience in New York City government where he served as First Deputy Commissioner for the Mayor’s Office of Media & Entertainment (MOME) and Chief Operating Officer for NYC Media. Previously, Todd also spent over a decade managing various aspects of the digital and media operations for Bloomberg LP.  

Tess O’Brien: As a Manager in the Digital Strategies practice at Bloomberg Associates, Tess O’Brien specializes in improving public services through digital innovation and design. She supports city governments to design services centered on user needs, adopt an agile approach to project management, and to leverage technology to solve city challenges and engage residents. Tess is passionate about scaling effective solutions within and across cities and participates in a number of global city networks. Tess holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
