  • Carbon measurement tool for local authorities

Maurice Marquardt Posted May 14 2018, 6:41 PM

Hi there, we are working with a number of local authorities in New Zealand who have set emission reduction targets. To encourage stakeholders and projects funded by these authorities to consider and reduce their carbon footprint these local authorities are looking for a suitable carbon measurement tool. Are any of you working with or aware of a simple carbon calulator for projects that enables users to estimate the likely carbon emissions on a life cycle basis, i.e. including upstream and downstream emissions and covering planning, design, construction, operation and user emissions?

    Thanks,

    Maurice

  • Building Leaders in Urban Transport Planning. Sep 10-16th, 2017

Qiyang Xu Posted Aug 20 2017, 9:06 AM

The LUTP (Leaders in Urban Transport Planning) training program will take place in Seoul on Sunday, September 10th to Saturday the 16th 2018.

One of the objectives of this program is to train counterparts involved in projects with the World Bank. The target group for this program is senior level decision makers at the national, provincial or city level – those who are responsible for urban transport at the policy-making level, rather than a purely technical level. International NGOs staff, consulting firms, and the academic community can also benefit from the training. World Bank colleagues from regional and country offices, working on urban transport projects, are welcome to attend.

LUTP Seoul is particularly interesting for its site visits as Seoul is one of the best examples of integrated green transport system in the world. This could be a good opportunity for your client countries it to see firsthand a modern sustainable transport system at work.

Please find attached a copy of the brochure which includes the details on how to register. You can also find more information here: https://www.koti.re.kr/main/lutp/2017.html
