"Ideation Contest" for the upcoming E-discussion on the UT C4D platform

Dear UT C4D friends,

We would like to invite you to share with us your thoughts and ideas about topics that you might find useful to discuss on this platform. Please share with us your ideas and feedback, through COB February 13th, 2015, and let us know which of the following 4 topics you consider more relevant/timely to have an E-discussion on:

1. Designing mobility for smart cities.

2. Smart cities and connectivity - how do you see the way forward?

3. The role of cross-sector integration in building a sustainable urban transport system.

4. Low carbon transport.

We will prioritize ideas based on the number of "votes".

Thank you for your input and looking forward to our E-discussion!

Best,

Rodica

    Dear Rodica,

thank you very much for organising such an inspiring E-discussion for us.

I would vote for both 2) and 3).

In my opinion, they are interacting. They are also indispensable in order to design, implement and run more efficient mobility for real smart cities. I.e. mobility which results in higher quality of access (= the ability to obtain desired goods, services, and activities) rather then measuring merely quantity of mobility (such as total mileage or travel speed). Such approach would significantly contribute to the overall lower carbon footprint as well.

Have a marvellous day & best regards,

    Lenka

    3. The role of cross-sector integration in building a sustainable urban transport system.

Makes a lot of sense for cities that are growing in most parts of the world, especially considering that many people are yet to fully grasp the importance and need for 'cross-sector integration' e.g. transport relation to land use management etc.

Number 2 and 1 shortly in that order.

    Sorry for the delayed vote....

I look forward to the eDiscussion - Rodica and all these is relevant in cities that are emerging from staggered development to leap-frog ideas happening in Nairobi. I vote 2 and 3.

    Thank you,

    I vote for

Smart cities and connectivity - how do you see the way forward?

Either of the aspect shall be well covered through Ideation.

Please share some brief on activity once done. All the very best.

    Bhasker.
