Reviewing new evidence (2011-2021), this working paper examines trends and the extent of current gender productivity gaps in agriculture as well as what works in different contexts. While concluding that the productivity gaps remain significant (between 4% to 28%), the authors critically examine the measures of productivity, units of analysis, and methods for estimating gaps. They conclude with recommendations to improve the methods and approaches for measuring and bridging productivity gaps – to better inform policies, investments, and development practice.
