Increasing women in technical and leadership positions is essential to meeting the estimated 14 million new jobs needed for clean energy growth by 2030. The World Bank’s WePOWER Network, which addresses the underrepresentation of women in the energy sector in South Asia, is working to make this happen. This blog highlights WePOWER accomplishments and next steps as the network goes global – with similar initiatives planned (or already launched) for the Middle East and North Africa and Europe and Central Asia regions, and for Africa.
