Analyzing survey data from 443 gig workers, this study reveals stark gender divides within the online gig economy in platform use and job categories. Women often choose more flexible digital jobs to juggle multiple responsibilities better, while men are motivated by higher income prospects. The study finds that job satisfaction increases with work-life balance, higher monthly income, and stronger social media connectivity and decreases with extended working hours, complex payment systems, and unstable internet connections. These findings have implications for the further growth of the gig economy and underscore the need for gender-sensitive policies in online labor markets.
