The Ministry of Health of Guyana, in collaboration with the World Bank, PAHO and FAO, organized a high-level event on One Health in Washington on April 3. The event was intended to gather multiple stakeholders, including from the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Agriculture, to celebrate the successful closing of the Guyana COVID-19 Emergency Response Project and the Government of Guyana’s leadership on One Health. The event shared the results of the JEE/VEE and PVS assessments funded through the HEPRTF attached to the project, socialized the National Health Security Action Plan and the Laboratory Strategy just finalized and based on the evidence of the assessments, and paved the way for a continued collaboration between the Government of Guyana, the World Bank, the agencies of the UN System, and other technical agencies (WOAH, IICA) to collectively advance the One Health agenda.
