Evaluation Policy for New Mothers

Evaluating new mothers is not an easy task. It has its own challenges. Every unit is facing the challenge of assessing the performance and needs of employees who have taken maternity leave and are currently lactating.

In Bhutan Power Corporation Limited (BPC), female employees are entitled to a six-month maternity leave, which is considered an active period. During maternity leave, female employees continue to receive their regular salary and allowances, including Basic Pay, CA, PBVA, and TAS Incentives. The performance evaluation of returning mothers is conducted over six months, but it does not have any impact on their remunerations since maternity leave is recognized as an active period. Consequently, returning mothers are safeguarded by the system in terms of performance evaluation.
