How can smart technology solutions help cities achieve their low-carbon ambitions? A range of smart technologies is increasingly available to cities, including big data, Internet of Things, digital twins, and others. However, cities might struggle to identify and prioritize smart technologies that can help reduce their carbon emissions in different sectors. Cities need guidance in understanding which approaches are best suited to their financial and technical capacities. The Global Smart City Partnership Program (GSCP) and the City Climate Finance Gap Fund are supporting cities and World Bank teams to better understand the low-carbon smart city landscape. This webinar, co-organized by the two programs, showcases practical examples from the cities that have pioneered the deployment of smart technologies for carbon mitigation. This session features experts who presented low-carbon, smart solutions from Korea, Spain, Jordan and the Netherlands.
