Republic of Korea - Law on the Promotion and Support of the Seaweed (Laver) Industry

 

Article 4 (Establishment of Basic Plan)

• The Minister of Oceans and Fisheries shall establish and implement a basic plan for the promotion of the laver industry (hereinafter referred to as the "Basic Plan") every five years to promote the seaweed industry.

② The Basic Plan must include the following items:

1. Basic objectives and promotion direction for the laver industry.
2. Matters concerning the development and dissemination of laver industry-related technology.
3. Cultivation of laver industry professionals and matters related to statistics and informatization.
4. Issues related to the productivity improvement of laver farming and the consumption promotion and distribution support for seaweed products.
5. Market development and promotion to expand the sales of laver and laver processed products.
6. International exchange and cooperation and support for expanding export markets.
7. Improvement and management of the quality of laver and laver processed products.
8. Designation of laver industry promotion zones.
9. Research and development of laver varieties.
10. Sanitary and safety management of laver products and quality management in processing/manufacturing.
